Celebrating a Remarkable Life – 105 Years Young!

On the 7th of April 2025, we had the honor of visiting one of our incredible patients, Mrs. A. Mitchell, who recently celebrated her 105th birthday.

This inspiring great-great-great grandmother (wow!) currently lives with her son Patrick and daughter in law Jenny, who cares for her full-time after an earlier injury requiring regular care. Though she sometimes misses her independence, she is appreciative of the love and concern for her wellbeing.

Mrs Mitchell is on oxygen 24/7 and is fully equipped with a concentrator, traveler and backup cylinder from Ecomed and she remains mentally sharp. She enjoys watching birds from her window, soaking up the sun, and watching TV to pass the time. While she does experience some pain and moves with assistance, her spirit is truly inspiring.

When asked about the secret to her long life, she simply laughed and said, “Coffee… lots of it!”.

What she treasures most is time with her family—especially getting hugs from her grandchildren.

Her advice to the world? “Make the most of each day.”
