Zuan (13) heard the first sounds through his cochlear implant!

After relying on hearing aids since age 2 – which sadly could no longer help – this activation day marked a turning point in his life.

Zuan was understandably overwhelmed and unsure, as the first sounds from a cochlear implant can feel strange and unfamiliar. But with time, his brain will adapt and learn to make sense of all the new sounds around him.

He still needs a second implant to support his speech and full hearing, but for now, we celebrate this incredible first step.
