PainSol

Ecomed represents Avanos, one of the most prominent international providers of nerve ablation (rhizotomy) equipment. Numerous well-respected neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons make use of our Avanos range for pain-management procedures.
What is Rhizotomy?:
The procedure is also known as radiofrequency lesioning, and requires a radiofrequency generator to generate a current to interrupt the pain signal transmission. The radiofrequency current alters/heats the tissue in and around the nerve, relieving the pain.
Radiofrequency lesioning is a widely used method to treat a patients suffering from pain.
What will happen during the procedure:
The procedure will take place in theatre where the patient is either sedated or under general anaesthetic. X-rays will be used to assist the trained surgeon. A probe, connected to the radiofrequency generator is then inserted into the cannulated needle. A radiofrequency current is then passed through the probe to disrupt the specific nerve responsible for patient’s pain. The procedure takes between 15 to 45 minutes.
Is the procedure painful?:
During the procedure the patient will feel no pain. Patients may experience a little discomfort afterwards, but it is not painful.
What happens after the procedure?:
A rhizotomy is a day procedure, and usually the patient is ready to go home a few hours after the procedure. They may feel drowsy after the procedure, so it is advisable to have someone drive them home. Patients may experience muscle tenderness for a few days.
We recommend that the patient see their physiotherapist or chiropractor to have the lesioned area neural flossed (massaged). This will promote healing in the lesioned area. They should be able to return to work the next day.
We recommend a follow up visit with the patient's doctor after three to four weeks to evaluate their progress.

Ecomed Medical has established a division to provide solar solutions to private residents and hospitals in response to the growing demand for renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.
Solar Solutions
Market Opportunity: The decision to open this division stemmed from recognising a significant market opportunity. Private residents and hospitals are increasingly interested in reducing their carbon footprint and energy costs, making them a prime market for solar solutions.
Product Offerings: The division offers a range of solar solutions tailored to the specific needs of private residents and hospitals. This could include rooftop solar panels for homes, solar carports for parking lots, and larger-scale solar installations for hospitals.
Customised Solutions: Each client's energy needs and infrastructure differ, so we offer customised solutions. This involves conducting energy audits to determine the most efficient solar setup for each client's location and energy consumption patterns.
Financing Options: Since the up-front cost of solar installations can be significant, we may offer financing options to make it more accessible to clients. This could include leasing arrangements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), or partnerships with financial institutions to provide loans.
Regulatory Compliance: We stay up-to-date with local regulations and permit requirements for solar installations.
We handle all necessary paperwork and ensure that installations meet safety and compliance standards.
Maintenance and Support: After installation, ongoing maintenance and support services are provided to ensure the optimal performance of the solar systems. This might include regular inspections, cleaning, and repairs as needed.
Environmental Benefits: By transitioning to solar energy, private residents and hospitals can significantly reduce their carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. This aligns with broader sustainability goals and can enhance the company's reputation as an environmentally responsible organisation.
Cost Savings: Solar energy can lead to long-term cost savings for clients by reducing their dependence on traditional energy sources and lowering utility bills. This can be a compelling selling point for any organisation looking to save money on operational overhead expenses.
