On 17 October, little Abigail (just 1 year old) heard sound for the very first time when her cochlear implant was switched on.

At first, she was unsure – confused by each new sound, and she kept pulling off the device. But then, a smile appeared, and she showed a shy reaction that her mother had never seen before.
